North Hampton State Beach is a great family location with an Atlantic ocean-front setting - its sandy beach is ideal for swimming and picnicking. Amenities at the beach include a bathhouse. Metered parking is available. Parking meters are located along Route 1A and accept quarters. Prior to visiting the NH seacoast, familiarize yourself with the Seacoast Beach information as well as Seacoast Beach parking options.

Get Involved

The New Hampshire Division of Parks and Recreation recently held a design and site planning meeting for the North Hampton State Beach on December 21, 7:00 pm at the North Hampton Town Hall. The meeting was open to the public for contribution. North Hampton planning meeting notes from 12/21/2011

The Division is seeking public input on the construction of a new bathhouse and adjacent site improvements at North Hampton State Beach (preliminary sketch

). Division representatives and the project architect will be present to discuss the preliminary plans for the building and the site. The redevelopment of North Hampton State Beach is funded through a capital appropriation by the State of New Hampshire and a grant from the Land and Water Conservation Fund.

In addition to the new building and site improvements, the Division will be seeking approval from the Town of Hampton to dispose of wastewater from the bathhouse into the Hampton municipal sewer system, by connecting with the existing Rye to Hampton sewer line that runs through the State Park Beach property. An informational session regarding the sewer connection will be held in the Town of Hampton in January.

Operating Schedule

This park is always open for recreation. During the off-season the park is typically not staffed and comfort stations are not available.

The off-season poses unique risks inherent when participating in outdoor recreational activities. Please be aware that many State Park areas and trails are not staffed during the off-season, and day-use fees are not collected. Recreationists should possess the necessary knowledge, skill, and equipment to ensure their own safety. Users assume all risk while recreating in State Park lands.
