Update – September 9, 2009
The Department of Resources and Economic Development is issuing a Request for Qualifications (RFQ) to solicit a company interested in serving as Construction Manager for the design and construction of the Hampton Beach Redevelopment Project. The Department is working closely with the Department of Administrative Services’ Bureau of Public Works, who is overseeing this capital project for the state. Both agencies will review and interview applicants for the contract. The RFQ is located on the State’s Administrative Services website, http://admin.state.nh.us/purchasing/publicworks/PWcurrentrequests.asp.
Selection will be based on experience and general qualifications to undertake a project of this size and scope. Companies who successfully meet the qualifications will be issued a Request for Proposals for the Construction Manager contract. Currently the plan is to have a Construction Manager in place by spring, with groundbreaking to take place shortly thereafter.
As this project develops we will be communicating on a regular basis to make sure all interested parties are informed on the progress. Sign up for our email newsletters or check back to this site regularly.

The Hampton Beach Redevelopment Project is underway! Agencies have been working on planning for this extreme make-over of Hampton Beach. Several logistical decisions have to be made on timing of certain construction projects and how operations will continue during construction. The biggest challenge is making sure that the guests to Hampton Beach have a pleasant experinece with limited inconveniences.
A Request for Qualifications (RFQ) looking for interested companies to act as a Construction Manager for the project will be issued next week. The RFQ will be posted on this website when available. Once the RFQ process is complete, those who have successfully met the qualifications will be issued the Request for Proposal for the Construction Manager contract.
July 2009
After several months of anticipation the State of New Hampshire budget was adopted and $14.5 million dollars was appropriated to the Hampton Beach State Park redevelopment project. The Division contracted with Samyn D’Elia Architects for phase II design and engineering.
The next several weeks will be devoted to identification of permit needs and developing permit applications, and reviewing the feasibility study and reengaging with key stakeholders. Timelines and work schedules are being developed, and right now we can’t say when the first shovels will be in the ground but it is looking like early spring.
